I have two Win2K8 R2 SP1 servers in a Failover cluster setup. I have assigned the following 5 SAN disks to the cluster:

Cluster Disk 3, Volume Q, Quorum, Disk #6 in Disk Manager
Data1, Volume D, Disk #4 in Disk Manager
Data2, Volume E, Disk #5 in Disk Manager
DTC1, Volume F, Disk #7 in Disk Manager
DTC2, Volume G, Disk #8 in Disk Manager

All resources are assigned and working. But when I choose the Validate Cluster option, I keep getting the following errors:

    Quote:
    Validate SCSI-3 Persistent Reservation
Validate that storage supports the SCSI-3 Persistent Reservation commands.

Test failed. Please look at the test log for more information

The LUNs are all from a brand new EMC VNX5300 SAN so I cannot understand why this is happening. We cannot install SQL 2012 on this server until this is rectified.

The servers are “ProLiant BL25p G1” and are pretty old but I’m not sure if this is the cause of the issue. We used to have 3 LUNs from the old HP EVA6000 SAN, and they have been decommissioned but are still present on the server as seen in Disk Manager.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
