– SBS 2003 SP1
– ADSL dynamic IP
– External Hosting for webpage and mail (POP3)
I canot send external email directly because dynamic IP (not trusted?)
I followed Simon’s guide here:
After surfing the forums and this topic:
If I use Outlook and config a POP3 account I use mail.myhosteddomain.com for both incoming and outgoing email (provided by hosting) so I configured SMTP connector the same way. Hosting Company provided me an account that lets me send mail under [email protected] so I configured SMTP Connector under Advanced Tab/Outbound Security button just like the tutorial explains.
However I cannot send email this way, each time I send email via Exchange I get a reply:
[email protected] el 21/06/2007 06:51 p.m.
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient’s email server. Please contact your system administrator.
the same with gmail.com yahoo.com, etc. That response makes me think, SMTP Connector is not working and email is sent directly by exchange, and sience MX, DNS records are not pointing my Server that error ocurrs.
Any help apreciated!!
PS Also tried IP [22.214.171.124] instead mail.myhosteddomain.com in SMTP Connector with same result, however doing it in plain Outlook POP3 Account works perfectly!
