At work, we have Exchange 2007 and users with either Outlook 2003 or 2007.
The problem, is that some users cannot open or attach additional Exchange mailboxes to their Outlook profile and get this error:
“The name could not be resolved. The action could not be completed. “
as if the mailbox cannot be resolved from the GAL. The user can email those users just fine and can see them fine in the Address book. The user also has Full Access permissions to the mailbox.
I have searched MS Knowledge base and tried every single thing it has suggested with no luck:
1. Created new profiles
2. Asked user to try it on another PC they have not used before
3. Re-checked permissions
4. Repaired Outlook
5. Checked for other 3rd party programs that my conflict with Outlook
6. Used LDP.exe to see if they can browse and search the domain
7. Check network card settings and the registry.
