Hey all,
I am confused on how to do this & the order to set this up:
Currently:
– Two sites with about 50 users each that are currently replicating data using DFS-R.
– Users get their home & common drives through the logon script and AD.
– Win2008 R2 Servers. About 60 XP & WIN7 clients.
Proposed:
– Set users in both sites to logon by site. If they travel to eithe site #1, #2, or dial in to either RDS server: they will always have access to thier data
– Have users get mapped drives via GP instead of logon script/AD
Questions:
– How do I create site based logons?
– Is there a best way to setup DFS-R for each site if I can going to use site logons?
My thoughts on the order:
– Setup two new DFS namespaces based on sites and ensure data is replicating
– Create site based logons GP
– Start removing each user’s logon script & home DIR mapping and have them start using the newly created GP
Thanks in advance.
