When you have two inputs at different speeds, is it better to set them up with load balancing? or rollover?
I have two similar situations. In the first, we have two WAN connections into a Netgear FVS336g router. One is Cable 22Mbps, and the other is DSL. I tried setting up load balancing, and it seemed that the connections through the cable were super fast, but those that got stuck on the DSL were very slow.
We also have a CentOS server with Elastix. It has a 1Gb NIC and a 100Mb NIC for redundancy.
When the speeds are so different, is it better to just run everything on the faster one, and leave the redundant connection for outages?
