    Hi all,

I’m living in a country where many Internet sites are blocked by the government so I managed to configure a Windows 2008 EE (VPS) with a single NIC and 2 valid IP addresses as a PPTP server to route my Internet traffic.

It was working fine for over 6 months but suddenly I got Error 800 at “Verifying username and password” stage. I believe the government has managed to block PPTP as some commercial VPN services I know of are reporting the same issue.

So I configured the RRAS to work as a L2TP server with pre-shared key. Now I can connect to the server, but can’t browse any site. The browser waits for some time and then “the page cannot be displayed”.

What I’m missing here? Do I need to change something else on RRAS to route my Internet traffic on L2TP?

    I’d appreciate your help.

    Thanks a lot.
