I’m thinking of implementing offline files and use encryption. I’m wondering if 3DES encryption can be applied here and also where is the data recovery certificate saved. cipher.exe /x doesn’t seem to do anything in this case. I’ve read several TechNet articles and it appears only the data on the client is encrypted.

Could someone provide a bit more insight. I don’t want to end up in a situation where the data is unreadable by everyone.
