In November, Microsoft announced that Copilot for Microsoft 365 is generally available for enterprise customers. Previously, businesses needed a Microsoft 365 subscription and a minimum of 300 licenses to use Copilot. However, Microsoft has now dropped this requirement, and the service is available for organizations with Office 365 E3 and E5 licenses. Moreover, Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard subscribers can purchase between one and 299 seats for $30 per user per month.
“Copilot for Microsoft 365 is even more powerful for organizations because it works across your entire universe of data at work — including emails, meetings, chats, documents and more, plus the web. With natural language prompts like “Tell my team how we updated the product strategy,” Copilot can generate a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails and chat threads,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Executive Vice President, Consumer Chief Marketing Officer.
Copilot for Microsoft 365 enables users to create content in Word, draft email responses, create presentations, summarize meetings, and analyze data in Excel. Copilot in Microsoft Teams also helps users create meeting agendas, real-time summaries of meetings, and action items.
Additionally, Copilot for Microsoft 365 offers commercial data protection capabilities for commercial customers. The service also comes with Semantic Index which works with the Microsoft Graph to create a map of data and content within an organization to provide personalized and actionable responses. Microsoft announced that commercial customers can purchase Copilot subscriptions through Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider partners.
Microsoft has also launched Copilot Pro, which is a new consumer plan priced at $20 per user per month. It allows consumers to access generative AI capabilities in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneNote for Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers. Copilot Pro is available for customers in the United States, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, India, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Japan, Spain, New Zealand, and Mexico.
