Microsoft Offers 20% Off Windows 365 to Ease Transition Ahead of Windows 10 End of Support

Microsoft has announced a 20% discount on all Windows 365 subscriptions for new customers. The discount comes as part of Microsoft’s broader push to help users transition before Windows 10 support officially ends in October 2025.

Windows 365 is a cloud-based service that allows customers to stream a full Windows operating system directly from the cloud to any device. Users can access their entire desktop, apps, settings, and data from anywhere with an Internet connection. This service offers seamless integration with tools such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Office apps.

Microsoft plans to end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After that date, the company will stop releasing security updates for PCs that are still running the operating system. Microsoft has introduced an Extended Security Updates (ESU) program to help users who need more time to transition. This allows individuals and organizations to pay for up to three additional years of security updates, with the cost increasing each year. This pricing model is designed to encourage organizations to transition from Windows 10 to newer solutions like Windows 11 or Windows 365.

Microsoft is offering a 20 percent discount on Windows 365 plans as a strategic response to the upcoming end of support for Windows 10. This discount is aimed at helping businesses transition to a more secure and modern computing environment without needing to upgrade physical hardware. Many older Windows 10 PCs don’t meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11, but Windows 365 provides a practical alternative. It allows users to access Windows 11 Cloud PCs using their existing devices.

Who can avail the 20% discount on Windows 365 — and until when?

Microsoft notes that the 20% discount is available to first-time Windows 365 customers and will remain in effect for the duration of their Enterprise Agreement contract or for the first year of their subscription. However, the offer does not apply to existing Windows 365 customers. The promotion is valid until October 31, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PT.

Microsoft has been trying to push customers towards subscription-based services as part of a broader shift in its business model. The company now encourages businesses to purchase subscriptions for products like Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows 365. This approach aligns with the growing demand for flexible and scalable solutions in business and personal computing environments.

Last month, Microsoft announced the general availability of Windows 365 Link. It’s a small black box that connects over the internet to a Windows 365 Cloud PC running in the Azure cloud. Windows 365 Link is priced at $349.
