Microsoft Entra Adds Native Partner Integrations to Deliver Stronger Identity Security

Microsoft has introduced built-in integrations with key security partners in Microsoft Entra. These new capabilities enable multilayered protection without requiring separate contracts or complex setup.

“Until now, integrating top-tier identity security solutions meant dealing with complex setups, custom code, and drawn-out contracts delaying protection and increasing risk. What makes this launch stand out isn’t just stronger protection; it’s the simplicity and speed of adoption. Now, with in-product Microsoft Entra integrated solutions and easy access through the Microsoft Security Store, organizations can discover, purchase, and deploy trusted partner solutions within minutes,” Microsoft explained.

First off, Microsoft highlighted that integrations with Cloudflare and Akamai provide Edge-level Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection. This capability helps to block DDoS attacks, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, and malicious bots before traffic reaches Azure Front Door or the Microsoft Entra External ID tenant.

Additionally, the integration of Arkose Labs and HUMAN Security offers risk-based screening and adaptive challenge workflows into user registration in Microsoft Entra External ID. This security feature enables organizations to block bot account creation and helps to keep sign-up seamless for legitimate users.

Enhanced identity verification with leading ID providers

Microsoft Entra ID now supports identity verification using government-issued IDs and biometric face matching via Au10tix, IDEMIA, and TrueCredential (LexisNexis). This enhances account recovery and Access Package requests by reducing reliance on insecure security questions, and enables passkey registration for smoother future access.

This new integration allows organizations to discover, purchase, and deploy security solutions directly within the Microsoft Entra portal and eliminates the lengthy vendor negotiation process. This approach helps to expand protection across every stage of identity interaction.
