M365 Changelog: Track and pause firmware auto-updates for Teams devices from Teams admin center
MC556779 – Microsoft is introducing enhancements to firmware auto-updates for Android-based Teams devices in Teams admin center.
These enhancements –
Make it easier to organize devices to manage rollout of new releases.
Improve visibility into the update process – which devices are getting updated and when.
Improve the regularity with which devices receive updates.
Make the update process more robust by adding additional internal guardrails.

When this will happen:
Standard Release: Rollout is currently underway and expected to complete by late May 2023.
How this will affect your organization:
Administrators using Teams admin center to manage Teams devices will see the following changes on the pages for Teams Phones, Displays, Panels, and Teams Rooms on Android:
New widget which displays active updates along with their details Admins can select “View details” to view releases that are currently rolling out for their tenant, including information such as device model, number of devices eligible, and active phase. Admins can use this information to identify devices that will be receiving updates.
Option to temporarily pause (and resume) auto-updates in the Actions menu Enabling Pause stops all firmware auto-updates for the tenant for 15 days. If an update is already scheduled it will be cancelled. Admins may choose to resume auto-updates before 15 days elapse.
Software versions released by Microsoft are marked as “Verified by Microsoft“.
