Microsoft Announces Bing Chat Enterprise and Microsoft 365 Copilot Pricing

Microsoft 365 Copilot hero approved

Microsoft announced this morning the pricing details of its Microsoft 365 Copilot tool alongside a new version of its Bing chatbot for enterprise users. The Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available as an add-on for $30 per user per month for all enterprise customers with Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium subscriptions.

Microsoft first unveiled its Copilot service to overhaul the Office apps in March 2023. The AI-powered Copilot tool allows enterprise customers to write emails, summarize documents and meetings, as well as enhance data analytics in Microsoft Excel. Over the past few months, around 600 organizations have internally tested Microsoft 365 Copilot during a paid early access program, including KPMG, Lumen, and Emirates NBD. Microsoft plans to share more details about its general availability in the next few months.

“By grounding answers in business data like your documents, emails, calendar, chats, meetings and contacts, and combining them with your working context – the meeting you’re in now, the emails you’ve exchanged on a topic, the chats you had last week – Copilot delivers richer, more relevant and more actionable responses to your questions,” said Frank X. Shaw, Chief Communications Officer at Microsoft.

Microsoft Details Monthly Cost of Microsoft 365 Copilot for Commercial Customers

It’s important to note that the Microsoft 365 E3 license already costs $36 per user per month. It includes Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and several other Office apps. This means that some organizations would face a significant increase in the cost of their monthly subscriptions. However, generative AI technologies that leverage large language models are highly resource intensive, which justifies the price of Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Bing Chat Enterprise will provide commercial data protection

Microsoft also announced the launch of Bing Chat Enterprise today. This chatbot will provide AI-powered chat for work and offer enhanced data protection capabilities to meet the compliance needs of commercial customers.

Bing Chat Enterprise is now available in public preview at no additional cost for organizations with Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium subscriptions. Microsoft also plans to make it available via a standalone plan that will be priced at $5 per user, per month.

Last but not least, Microsoft unveiled today that the Copilot experience is coming to Teams phones and Teams chat. Additionally, Microsoft 365 Copilot can summarize chats, answer questions, and highlight important points in conversations.
