Microsoft has launched a new Intel-powered Surface Laptop 5G for business customers, which will start shipping on August 26. Meanwhile, the previously announced 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop are now available for business customers starting today.

Microsoft’s new 5G version of the Surface Laptop for Business is a Copilot+ PC that features a 13.8-inch display. It comes with an Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) CPU with a 40+ TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This new Surface Laptop 5G is designed with six antennas that adapt to usage and environment to ensure a strong signal and smooth transitions between 5G and Wi-Fi. There is also a multi-layered laminate that allows radio signals to pass through while maintaining durability and a premium feel.

“At the heart of Surface Laptop 5G is a dynamic antenna system that continuously adapts to its environment. With six strategically placed antennas, the device automatically adjusts signal paths and power based on how it’s being held or used, ensuring strong, reliable connectivity exactly when and where it’s needed,” said Nancie Gaskill, General Manager for Surface products.

Surface Laptop 5G offers both NanoSIM and eSIM options for global connectivity. To ensure optimal performance, Microsoft has tested the 5G hardware with over 100 mobile operators across more than 50 countries.

IT-friendly features for easy deployment and management

Administrators can remotely manage and deploy eSIM profiles, which allows them to pre-configure cellular connectivity for enrolled Surface devices. Windows Autopilot also offers a zero-touch deployment experience where devices are shipped directly to users and automatically configure themselves upon first boot.

Additionally, the Surface Management Portal within the Intune Admin Center lets IT admins gain centralized visibility into device health, compliance, as well as usage across their fleet. The new Security Copilot integration also helps to quickly identify security issues, analyze risks, and respond to cyberattacks.

Surface Laptop 5G Availability

Currently, Surface for Business devices are available for US-based customers through various partners, including Verizon Business, with selected Verizon stores rolling out in the next few months.

Microsoft is once again reminding users that Windows 10 will reach its end-of-support deadline on October 14, 2025. The company urges organizations to transition to modern, AI-optimized Surface Copilot+ PCs. These new Surface devices support Windows Studio Effects in video calls, as well as other AI-powered features, including Windows Recall, Click to Do, and the improved Windows Search experience that lets users find files using natural language prompts.
