M365 Changelog: (Updated) Office documents have a new default theme
MC666615 – Updated March 15, 2024: Microsoft has updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
A new default document theme is coming to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook across your endpoints. The new theme will include the new default font, Aptos, a new color palette, and updated default line weights.
This change is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID: 161740
When this will happen:
Preview: This feature is now available.
Worldwide: Microsoft will begin rolling out mid-December 2023 (previously mid-August) and be fully rolled out by late March 2024 (previously early March).
How this will affect your organization:
The default Office theme will be changing across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Web.
What you need to do to prepare:
There is no action needed to prepare for this change.
