M365 Changelog: New themes in the new Microsoft Outlook for Windows and web

MC720780 – To offer more personalization to end users, Microsoft Outlook on the web and the new Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft Windows will release 10 new themes. These themes will be released in addition to the over 55 themes that already exist in both email clients. Users can access these themes in the Appearance page of Settings.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 126221

When this will happen:

Worldwide, GCC: Microsoft will begin rolling out early March 2024 and expects to complete by late March 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

Users within your tenant will have 10 new options when selecting themes.

What you need to do to prepare:

If you want your users to have the ability to set these new themes, then there is nothing you need to do. The new themes will become available on users’ machines as they rollout.

If you do not want your users to access these new themes, you can disable them and set your own theme in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Simply choose the accent colors that you want displayed on users’ machines and select the option to “Prevent users from overriding their theme.”
