Microsoft introduced today its new Surface Copilot+ PCs for businesses that are powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Plus processors. These new devices come with Microsoft Pluton security chips to help businesses protect their sensitive data against sophisticated threats.
Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro for Business (11th Edition) is a 2-in-1 laptop that is designed to deliver more AI processing power than the iPad Pro M4. It supports various Copilot+ experiences like Windows Studio Effects, Live Captions with live translation, Image Creator and Restyle Image in Photos, and Windows Recall. Additionally, the enhanced voice focus leverages the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to reduce background noise during video calls and meetings.
The latest Surface Pro device is available with 16GB or 32GB of memory and up to 1TB of storage. Microsoft also promises up to 14 hours of video playback and up to 10 hours of active web usage. The other highlights include a 1440p Quad HD camera with an ultrawide field of view that supports Windows Studio Effects, a 10.5MP Ultra HD rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity, 2 USB-C ports, and a Surface Connect port for charging.
The new Surface Pro includes an optional 13-inch OLED HDR 120Hz display and a Surface Pro Flex keyboard that can be detached to use wirelessly. It also features an integrated NFC reader that offers passwordless authentication capabilities with YubiKey 5C and other NFC security keys.
The Surface Laptop for Business (7th Edition) is among Microsoft’s latest Copilot+ PCs, which come with an NPU that powers advanced AI capabilities built into Windows 11. The latest Surface Laptop features brighter displays with ultra-thin bezels, two USB4 Type-C ports, as well as support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It’s available for business customers in two sizes: a 13.8-inch and a 15-inch touchscreen display. Microsoft also promises up to 22 hours of battery life.
On the security front, the new Surface Laptop is a Windows 11 Secured-core PC with BitLocker support and a TPM 2.0 chip. It also provides support for Windows Hello face authentication with enhanced sign-in security.
Microsoft plans to begin shipping the Surface Laptop 7th Edition and Surface Pro 11th Edition (Wi-Fi-only models) on September 10th. Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 11th Edition 5G models will start shipping to businesses on September 26th. The new Surface Pro 10 5G model comes with Intel’s latest Ultra Core processors, a 33% brighter display with an anti-reflective coating, and a detachable Surface Pro Flex keyboard. Microsoft is also promising up to 19 hours of battery life with these new Intel CPUs.
The Surface Pro 10 now offers optional 5G connectivity to help employees get high bandwidth and secure access to critical data and collaboration tools. In the US, Microsoft has also announced a new T-Mobile Partner Plus program that will provide qualifying businesses a subsidy credit of up to $400 on the Surface Pro with 5G devices.
