M365 Changelog: SharePoint modern pages make adding text easier (Targeted release)

MC223191 – Modern SharePoint page authors will find that adding text is easier when they have added new sections. This announcement applies only to customers in our Targeted Release program. If you are not participating in Targeted Release, you may safely ignore this message.

When this will happen

• We will begin gradually rolling this out to Targeted Release customers in early October and expect to complete this rollout by the end of March 2021. 
• We will publish a new message when this feature is generally available.

How this will affect your organization

Today a modern SharePoint author must manually add the text web part to each new column, with the exception of the first section, where SharePoint adds a text web part automatically.

Soon SharePoint will automatically add one text web part to each column when adding a new section to a modern page. If no text is entered, the text web part will not display on the published page.
