M365 Changelog: OneDrive: Sync client support for ARM on Windows (Preview)

A preview of OneDrive sync for ARM on Windows is coming to devices in the Current Channel (Preview).

  • Following the preview release to Current Channel (Preview), it will release GA.

If you are not interested in the preview of OneDrive sync for ARM on Windows, you can safely disregard this message.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 82182.

When this will happen:

  • Current Channel (Preview): Microsoft will begin rolling this out in early December and expect to complete rollout mid-December. – Complete
  • Standard: Microsoft will begin rolling this out in early March (previously late January) and expect to complete by late April (previously mid-February).There will be no preview release

How this will affect your organization

All functionality is the same as it is in the 32-bit and 64-bit installations.

What you need to do to prepare

To enable the preview, users will need to have joined the Current Channel (Preview) and enabled the preview in OneDrive Settings > About. Users can also opt out in OneDrive Settings > About.

You might want to notify users that the ARM install is available as a preview, update your user training, and prepare your help desk.
