Microsoft Teams will soon have a new task publishing experience, which includes recurring task lists, training and policy task lists, form completion requirements, and approval completion requirements. These features will be enabled as part of the rollout of the new Planner experience, which is expected to begin early April 2024 for targeted release and mid-April 2024 for standard release. No additional action is needed to prepare for this rollout.

The task publishing experience allows frontline organizations to distribute tasks across employees spread across geographically dispersed locations and then monitor how that work is going. Task publishing is available in Microsoft Teams as part of the Tasks by Planner and To Do app, which will soon be renamed to Planner.

When this will happen:
Targeted Release: Microsoft will begin rolling out early April 2024 (previously mid-March) and expect to complete by mid-April 2024 (previously late March).
Standard Release: Microsoft will begin rolling out mid-April 2024 (previously late March) and expect to complete by early May 2024 (previously early April).

If you are using the task publishing feature, you will see new options when creating task lists and tasks.
