M365 Changelog: (Updated) Microsoft Teams – In-meeting Error Messaging – August 15, 2024

Microsoft Teams Meeting users will receive error messages on the right pane explaining why they cannot access meeting chats due to policy limitations or unexpected errors. The rollout will begin in mid-November and end in early April 2024, and users do not need to take any action to prepare for this change.

Microsoft Teams Meeting users will be notified directly through the error message on meeting right pane for why they cannot access meeting chats when their chat access is limited by policy or due to system limitations and unexpected errors.

When this will happen:

Targeted Release: Microsoft will begin rolling out mid-November and expects to complete by late November.

Worldwide: Microsoft will begin rolling out early December and expects to complete by mid-December.

GCC: Microsoft will begin rolling out early January and expects to complete by mid-January.

GCC High: Microsoft will begin rolling out mid-January and expects to complete by late January.

DoD: Microsoft will begin rolling out early February and expects to complete by late August 2024 (previously early August).
