M365 Changelog: Emissions Impact Dashboard for Microsoft 365 – General Availability

MC445421 – The Emissions Impact Dashboard (EID) for Microsoft 365 is a Power BI application that quantifies carbon emissions associated with your organization’s usage of Microsoft 365 applications like Exchange, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. Power BI Pro users will now be able to install the generally available version of EID for Microsoft 365.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 82196

When this will happen:

The application will be available for any Power BI Pro user to install in early October.

How this will affect your organization:

Once installed, Power BI Pro users in your organization can connect the report to your organization’s data if they have one of the allowed Microsoft 365 admin profiles described in our product documentation.

If any user in your organization previously installed the preview version of the Emissions Impact Dashboard for Microsoft 365, Microsoft suggests upgrading to the new generally available version. The user that originally installed the preview application will see a prompt in Power BI to upgrade to the new version, or they can do so from this page. After upgrading to the new version, the user will need to reconnect to your organization’s data by following the prompts provided in the Power BI application.

Note: In the new version of the report, the history of the Carbon Intensity and Usage Report tabs will be limited to show data only from June 2022 onwards.

What you need to do to prepare:

Review the documentation for the Emissions Impact Dashboard for Microsoft 365 and determine if it is appropriate for your organization to install.
