M365 Changelog: Configuration Change – Microsoft Bookings service plan will be available for E1 and Business Basic licenses

MC324464 – Upcoming, the Microsoft Bookings service plan will be available for E1 and Business Basic (BB) customers. You will have the option to turn OFF Microsoft Bookings for your entire organization or for specific users if you do not want to use the app.

When will this happen:

Will be available in early March, for E1 and BB customers.

How this will affect your organization:

Users with E1 and Business Basic licenses will have access to Bookings beginning in early March. If you don’t want your users to have access to Bookings you can remove the Bookings license in the admin center or using PowerShell. You also have an option to turn OFF Microsoft Bookings for your organization if you do not desire to use it.

What you need to do to prepare:

1. If you take no action, all existing and new users created after this update with E1, and Business Basic licenses will have access to Bookings.

2. If Bookings is already enabled in your tenant, then existing Bookings calendars and data will not be impacted.

3. If you want to remove access to specific users in your tenant, you can do this through admin center or through PowerShell. You can also allow only specific users to create Bookings calendars in the organization.

Note: If Bookings is already enabled in your tenant, then existing Bookings calendars and data will not be impacted.
