MC260561 – Updated July 19, 2021: Microsoft has updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
To automate and simplify the approval process for custom apps this feature update will enable admins to receive a notification in a dedicated Teams channel when a developer submits a custom app for IT admin approval.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 82512.
When this will happen:
Microsoft will begin rolling this out in early July and expect to complete rollout mid-August (previously mid-July).
How this will affect your organization:
This notification will allow admins to review it in the Microsoft Teams admin center and approve it for publishing to your organization’s app store.
This will rollout default off and admins will need to opt-in to enable the feature.
What you need to do to prepare:
You might want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
