Key Takeaways:

  • Commvault’s platform will be offered as a native Azure service.
  • It supports backup, ransomware recovery, and operational resilience.
  • This service is available via Microsoft Marketplace with Azure consumption benefits.

Microsoft has teamed up with Commvault to keep data secure and recoverable in an increasingly complex threat landscape. This new multi-year partnership brings Commvault’s resilience platform directly into Microsoft Azure.

With this new initiative, Commvault’s extensive AI and cyber resilience technologies will be offered as a native independent software vendor (ISV) service within Microsoft Azure. It will allow customers to easily access and use its tools directly from the cloud environment.

This partnership will enable organizations to protect and quickly restore data, applications, and identities. It will also help recover from cyberattacks, system failures, or human errors, and manage resilience through a unified, integrated platform.

Streamlined procurement and management through Microsoft Azure

This new partnership will allow customers to benefit from a streamlined process for procurement, onboarding, and operations, which eliminates the need for separate systems or complex integrations. This collaboration emphasizes secure and resilient AI adoption to ensure businesses can innovate with AI as well as maintain strong data protection and recovery mechanisms.

“Customers rely on Azure as a resilient foundation for their cloud and AI workloads. Supporting Commvault natively gives them more choice in how they protect and recover their data, with a more seamless experience inside Azure,” explained Girish Bablani, President of Azure Core at Microsoft.

Commvault’s native Azure service to enter public preview this Summer

According to Commvault, this new collaboration is aimed at supporting organizations managing complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It focuses on various areas, including backup and recovery, ransomware preparedness, and operational resilience.

Commvault notes that its native ISV service on Microsoft Azure will be available in public preview this summer. Customers will be available through the Microsoft Marketplace, and spending can count toward Azure consumption commitments.
