Microsoft Supercharges Teams with New Search Feature
This Week in IT
LISTEN ON:
This Week in IT, Microsoft is set to supercharge Teams with powerful search commands, Edge becomes an AI browser with Copilot Mode, and support for migration of legacy Exchange Server public folders to Exchange Online will end October this year.
Teams advanced search commands: Teams will gain SQL-style search filters allowing complex queries by user, channel, and text, improving search precision without GUI reliance. This feature is expected by August 2025.
Meeting tab in Teams: A new meeting tab will organize all meeting-related content and support the new search filters for easier meeting management.
Edge AI Copilot Mode: Edge browser’s Copilot Mode is now available as an experimental feature, providing natural language browsing help via an integrated pop-out window in the address bar for faster access.
Exchange Server migration deadline: Native migration support for public folders from Exchange Server versions older than 2010 to Exchange Online ends October 1, 2025, requiring upgrades or migration completion to avoid failures.
