M365 Changelog: Teams app setup policy group assignment
MC320692 -App setup policies allow apps to be pre-installed and pinned to the app bar by the admin. App setup policies can now specifically be assigned to groups.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 88304.
When this will happen:
Microsoft expects this rollout to begin in mid-February and be completed by late February.
How this will affect your organization:
App setup policy is now enabled for policy assignment to groups, such as a security group or a distribution list. The policy assignment is propagated to members of the group according to precedence rules. As members are added to or removed from a group, their inherited policy assignments are updated accordingly
What you need to do to prepare:
If there are setup policies that organizations want to distribute to specific groups, they can start identifying group names and deciding on ranking of policies, if more than one apply. You may also want to update your documentation as needed.
