M365 Changelog: Retiring Teams mobile support for devices running on iOS version 13 and below

MC280286 – Updated August 31, 2021: Microsoft has updated the timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Microsoft will be retiring the Teams mobile support on iOS version 13 and below. Instead Microsoft recommend that users upgrade to newer iOS builds, which is where they will continue to invest their development resources. Microsoft will also begin encouraging users to update to the newest version of Teams if they’re running builds older than 1 year.

Key points

  • Timing: The retirement will begin in early November (previously early October) and is expected to complete by mid-November (previously mid-October).
  • Action: Instead of using iOS 13 or below, Microsoft recommend updating to OS versions 14 and above.

How this will affect your organization:

You are receiving this message because one or more users in your organization might be using iOS mobile devices that are running on version 13 or lower.

Starting November you will not receive app updates on iOS 13 and below, however versions installed before November will continue to work on these devices. Microsoft recommends everyone to update to latest OS and app versions for best experience.
