Planning to attend Microsoft Ignite in Chicago this year? The Petri IT Knowledgebase editorial team will be there as well, and we’re also planning something special for readers who can make it to Chicago for the first-ever Microsoft Ignite conference: Our 2nd Annual Petri.com / Thurrott.com Happy Hour, sponsored by Tintri and Veeam Software.
Eagle-eyed readers with good memories will recall that we held our first Petri author meet and greet at Microsoft TechEd 2014 last year. We were pleasantly surprised by how many readers took the time out of their busy TechEd schedules to meet us and chat with our authors, so that encouraged us to plan an even bigger event at Microsoft Ignite this year. You can also check out photos from last year’s event in our TechEd 2014 Facebook photo album on the official Petri Facebook page.
We also added Paul Thurrott‘s new Thurrott.com site to the Blue Whale Web family, so Paul will be there as well. We’re also hoping that Petri site sounder Daniel Petri will make it this year, and you’ll likely have the chance to meet some members of the Current Status team — possibly Phoummala Schmitt and Theresa Miller — as well.
If you’ve ever wanted to ask Paul Thurrott about his clean PC article series, quiz Daniel Petri about Active Directory issues, or get Aidan Finn’s opinion about what to expect in the news about the optimal Hyper-V configuration, or get Phoummala Schmitt’s advice on thorny Microsoft Exchange issues — in person — this is your chance.
The event will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, from 5:30 to 7:30pm local time (CDT) at:
Kroll’s South Loop
1736 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60616
The Petri IT Knowledgebase staff also would like to express our thanks to our event sponsors, Tintri and Veeam Software, for helping make this event possible. Tintri and Veeam representatives will also be on hand during the event, and I’ll update this post with Trintri and Veeam employee details when we get them. We hope you’ll join us in thanking Tintri (@Tintri) and Veeam (@Veeam) for their generous support of the event.
As an additional thank you for Petri and Thurrott readers that can attend the event, a limited number of attendees — on a first-come, first-served basis — will receive an exclusive Petri and Thurrott collectible beer stein (see below) which will only be given out at this event. In order to receive the mug, you must be on the RSVP list and you must attend the event in person. Only 300 mugs will be available, so register today!
As a special bonus for all women who have already registered (and RSVP’ed) for the event, each will receive an exclusive Current Status collectible wine glass. In addition to wine glasses for all women who have already RSVP’ed for the event, 10 Current Status wine glasses will be given out randomly to both male and female attendees of the Happy Hour.
The following Petri authors, contributors, and editors should be in attendance:
Space will be limited, so we’d ask that everyone who would like to attend kindly request an RSVP ticket by registering for the event. Event registration will open on April 8th at 9:00am MT, so bookmark this page and check back often to reserve your spot! (The registration link will be added below.)
