MC600734 – Microsoft will be retiring the Quick Settings pane in Outlook on the Web and the new Outlook for Windows preview by July 2023. Instead, when a user clicks on the Settings gear (⚙️) icon in the header, they will be directly navigated to the Full Settings window.
When this will happen:
Microsoft is currently rolling out this change and expect to complete by the end of June.
How this will affect your organization:
Going forward, neither users nor administrators will be able to access the Quick Settings pane once this change is implemented.
Most of the options previously found in Quick Settings can now be easily accessed from the View tab of the ribbon (e.g., Messages & Conversation View, Layout, and Density preferences). These options also continue to be available from the Full Settings Window.
What you need to do to prepare:
Nothing is required of you to prepare for this change, unless you have internal support documentation that references Quick Settings or needing to click a “View all Outlook settings” button in Quick Settings in order to access Full Settings. All Microsoft support documentation will be updated soon to reflect this new Settings behavior.
