WINDOWSsystem32LogFilesW3SVC1 full with large log files

Have a a SBS 2003 and the drive c: is running out of space
After careful looking I found that the following pad C:WINDOWSsystem32LogFilesW3SVC1 is getting full with large log files
After doing a google serach I found this files a log files created either by ISS or exchange OWA and they are safe to delete
However I would like to know the reason why this files started to grow on size from 17MB to over 500MB and then to over 1GB within last week
