I have a VMware 5.5 virtual server which is using around 99% of its 4GB of memory. The server is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and is a domain controller.

In the VMware Performance screen, CPU is sitting at 40% and Memory is sitting at 95%, but I keep getting the VMware alert “SERVERAD01, Warning, Virtual machine memory usage, VCENTRE.mydomain.com, 3/5/2015 8:00:17 AM”.

I’ve checked the Resource Monitor, and here’s what it shows for Commit (KB):

    MonitoringHost.exe: 104,020
    mcshield.exe: 96,116
    lsass.exe: 95,264
    dns.exe: 75,844
    mmc.exe: 72,076
    Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.WebServices.exe: 44,544
    svchost.exe (LocalServiceNetworkRestricted): 44,072

It does not seem that there is one specific process which is consuming the memory.

Here are screenshots from the server:

Pls let me know what you think.
