Ok, I have two ESX v4 machines in production and everything is working great. (I have the Full licensed VMWare software with VCenter)

I am currently a GUI user and want to move over to scripting but I do not know where to start!

This is probably a complete Noob question, I have tried to google it and searched here with no success..

I want to be able to do the following (Via a script)
    1) Pause a VM
    2) copy the VM to another share (perferrably a windows share, but can be another vmfs)
    3) Resume the VM

I have found scripts to do some of this, but I have no idea where I place the script or how to tell the program to run the script on a time table.

I would perfectly happy if anyone could tell me how to say “Hello World” each night at midnight via the ESX machine.

    Thanks for your help!!!
