NTBackup runs fine on my Vista Business, even with Volume Shadow Copy enabled. I have a different problem with it, however, which makes the software unusable for me:

Whenever I start NTBackup and the ‘searching for backup devices’ window appears, a notification window pops up telling me that NTBackup can’t connect to the Removable Media Service. When I click OK, NTBackup is there and I can backup. But only to file. Which works, but that’s not what I bought my DLT Tape Drive for! (Quantum DLT-V4 SATA)

Both the Removable Media Service and Volume Shadow Copy Service are running, still that message appears each and every time. I used the petri guide to set up NTBackup.

Any ideas, anyone? Many Gigs of Data to backup, and an unsuable tape drive… :(
