SMB shared folder permission – user cannot connect but admin can

Hi

we have just been given a mac to get connected to our network (1st mac)

i have joined the mac to the domain as it is seen in AD/Computers

I have setup a path to a share

smb://DC1/e$/Call%20Centre/Marketing%20Shared/SamMac

The user has access to the Call Centre share on AD however we get a connection failed error

you do not have permission to access DC1

if i use domain admin credentials we can get to the smb path no problems.

to me it seems forwhatever reason that it is not allowing the user past the domain controller?

any ideas anyone, not used to macs?
