Simple 2003 AD to 2008 R2 Migration steps

Hello,
I am waiting for my new 2008 R2 64 T410 Server to upgrade an old 2003 Standard SP2 AD Server. We are running AD & DNS on 2003 and it is acting as our file server. 5 users. I would like to know the best and safest way to add the 08 and migrate the old 03. I will not be keeping the old box and there is no exchange, sharepoint, sql, etc. Am I better off just starting fresh and moving the 5 clients to the new server (they are running XP Pro) which would require takeing them off the old and recreating their profiles the new or is it better to just migrate the AD? I have done 2000 -> 2003 but not 2003 -> 2008. Will the 32bit/64bit OS difference create any issues? Can I find a step-by-step guide to achieve this goal? Any and all help would be appreciated.
