I was trying to find an answer to this everywhere, but I just can’t.
I am running AD on Server 2003 w/ Roaming Profiles.
The workstations are from both WinNT and Windows XP.
For some reason, the roaming profiles will randomly corrupt themselves. It has never happened to the same user twice, but it has happened to over 15 users over the past 2 months. The fix is simple, just delete the profile, and it will re-create itself. I have no problem with that part, I am just wondering what could possibly be doing the actual corrupting. I understand that sometimes they just become corrupt, but this seems a bit excessive.
I have done a ton of research on it, and it appears the symptoms of corruption include caching. However, I can’t disable this because over half of the users are on laptops, and are used off-site at home.
