We have a client who has an odd scenario. The company name is similar to the owner’s name as follows:
Owner Name: John Smith
Company Name: John Smith and Co
Internal Domain: JOHNSMITH
One of the senior members of staff came close to accidentally sending a very confidential message to the domain distribution list instead of directly to the owner’s mailbox.
They have asked us to remove the distribution list so that there is no chance of an accident like this happening in future.
I was unsure as to whether there were any implications to removing the list as it is automatically created. So, does anyone know if it can be safely removed or preferably disabled so that it does not accept email but can be re-enabled if necessary? No gotchyas hidden in there?
