    Hi all,

    ok, here’s the dealio,

    • BESserver (server 2003 x32 standard R2, SP2
      with BackupExec v12.5
    • EXCHANGE Server 2007 SP (x64), on a server 2008 x64 Standard SP2, with BackupExec remote agent for Exchange

….fails to backup individual mailboxes due to the following error:

e0001207 – To support individual mailbox message and folder restores from Information Store backups, you must download and install the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects package version 06.05.7888 or later on the Exchange 2007 server

So….i check the versions installed on both servers:

    • mapi32.dll = 1.0.2536.0 (on both servers)
although this doesn’t seem to be the issue
    • BESserver, cdo.dll = 06.05.8131.0 (so a later version)
    • EXCHANGE server – cannot find the file cdo.dll (only found cdosys.dll)

So, i copied and pasted the cdo.dll from BESserver to EXCHANGE, then tried to register it by opening a cmd prompt and typing

    regsvr32 “C:WindowsSystem32cdo.dll”

but got the error (see attached).

    Can anyone help please?
I’m not sure if copying and pasting the file was the correct thing to do, but thought that registering it would be ok. Maybe there is the difference between x32 and x64 ??
I’m also a little fearful of actually installing the app from the MS website as that will effectively downgrade the mapi32.dll version which could break the BES if i change the version of file.

Any help would be most appreciated.
    Many thanks :)
