I have an SBS 2008 machine that’s been working great for a year. Last week it started going unresponsive – not crashing, just dropping off the network. We reboot it and it’s fine for a while.
Today I discovered that the _msdcs.FQDN. is present, but it’s missing all the folders under it – I’ve attached a screenshot.
Is it safe to remove that zone, and create a new AD integrated zone in it’s place? I started to do that but the warning I got when I went to delete the existing zone, even though it’s broken- made me pause.
I’ve tried other suggestions including ipconfig /flushdns and registerdns and restart netlogon but that has not worked.
