    Hi,

As I understand, RAID1 should for 2 disks (mirror), while RAID10 for more (mirror & span).
Yet, I found from IBM x3650M3 RAID Manager, I can choose RAID1 for 8 disks or RAID10 for 8 disks. For both, I can use the same disk space ( = 4 disks’ capacity).

I don’t know what’re differences between RAID1 & RAID10 in this case. I also did a search and read the MegaRAID User guide for explanation but couldn’t clear, maybe because of my bad English  or the document didn’t mention about RAID1 for more than 2 disks.

Can anyone help to explain to me the differences in this case ? I care much about the performance (read/write for SQL Logs) and fault tolerance.

    Thanks so much.
