I have some questions regarding the best use of redirected folders and roaming profiles in SBS 2011.
My standard setup at the moment is to redirect documents and desktop, then set up roaming profile to take care of everything else (favourites, outlook settings etc).
However, my issue with this is that I have to go into AD to set up profile redirection – and therefor when creating additional users, this is a bit of a manual process (that could get forgotten).
Just now I looked back on a recent installation I done (running in a terminal server environment) and on that install I had used GPO for everything – making use of the favorites, start menu AND Appdata folder redirect.
It seems this is a better way of doing it, as its all automated.
I just wonder if there is anything else important that would be left in the local profile, and also what the general bets practices are for this situation – the goal being to leave as little on the local computer as possible.
