Outlook password prompt RPC issue

    Hi All.

    i have two separate domains and one exchange server in one of the domains. There is a trust relationship between both domains.

    the remote site on the separate domain is having issues connecting to exchange in the other domain where outlook is continually prompting for user and password.

    I can logon fine using webmail and outlook appears to work even though the password box appears.

    I have run the exchange connectivity test for a user in both domains. i get a pass for the domain that contains the exchange server and get the following issue from a user in the remote site.

    Attempting to ping RPC proxy server.domain.co.uk
    RPC Proxy can’t be pinged.

    i also get the following logged error on the exchange server.

    Using exchange connectivity tester for autodiscovery lookup also fails for the remote domains user which is odd.

    The Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer is attempting to retrieve an XML Autodiscover response from URL https://autodiscover.domain.co.uk/AutoDiscover/AutoDiscover.xmlfor user [email protected]
    The Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer failed to obtain an Autodiscover XML response.

    Additional Details
    An HTTP 401 Unauthorized response was received from the remote Unknown server. This is usually the result of an incorrect username or password. If you are attempting to log onto an Office 365 service, ensure you are using your full User Principal Name (UPN).
