Moving Mailboxes from Exchange 2000 to 2003

Greetings All,

I have a question, We are looking to migrate from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003. I have built the Exchange 2K3 Box, joined it to the organization and setup a test email account on the 2K3 server which can send and recieve mail no problem.

When moving mailboxes from one Exchange box to another, do I have to stop all external mail from coming in as well as making sure NO one is logged on? Or could I do it late at night per say when no one is on and email traffic is minimal??

What is the best recommendation for moving mailboxes from one Exchange box to another?

I will also be backing up everyone’s email box with Exmerge just incase of any corrupted mailboxes.
