I have two domains with a trust setup between them. One of the domains (old) will be decommissioned as I get all of the services and accounts moved across to the other (new) domain.

The old domain contains a number AD Integrated DNS zones which the new domain can see as secondary zones.

I want to transfer one of these zones to the new domain to ensure it is available when the old domain is decommissioned – however It will still need to be available to the old domain for another few months.

How do I go about doing this, do I just need to change the “Master Server” and set the “Primary Server” in the DNS console to be a DC in the new domain?
