Our current setup is running Windows SBS2011, NOT running Exchange any longer (migrated to O365). Long ago, when this single server was setup, the domain name was misspelled and kept at .local – acmeT.local
I have new hardware and will visualize Windows Server 2016 Essentials. What are my options to go from old server to new and create the correct domain name – acme.com ? I am most concerned about the Group Policies – mainly all of the drive mappings. AD groups. Data seems like using Robocopy in a one time grab, should work. No print servers. Under 25 users.
* Create new 2016 E server, setup new, correct domain, AD/DNS/DHCP, robocopy data, backup GP, use GPMC to import?
Is there a migration tool, or best practice path I should take to accomplish this?
