    Hi

    I have this environment:

    4 x vSphere 4 hosts (ESXi)
    1 x EVA4400 SAN
    15 x vDisks (LUNs)

    I am adding 5 more vSphere (ESXi) hosts to the environment but i’m being caught out by the LUN allocation and need some help.

    My 15 vDisks were created and then presented to all 4 of the original hosts therefore each host has the same LUN assigned to it, e.g.

    vDisk 1:
    esx_host_1 = LUN 1
    esx_host_2 = LUN 1
    esx_host_3 = LUN 1
    esx_host_4 = LUN 1

    vDisk 2:
    esx_host_1 = LUN 2
    esx_host_2 = LUN 2
    esx_host_3 = LUN 2
    esx_host_4 = LUN 2

    But now when i present this vDisk to the new hosts it is getting presented as the next available LUN ID, e.g.

    vDisk 1:

    esx_host_1 = LUN 1
    esx_host_2 = LUN 1
    esx_host_3 = LUN 1
    esx_host_4 = LUN 1
    esx_host_5 = LUN 13
    esx_host_6 = LUN 13
    esx_host_7 = LUN 13
    esx_host_8 = LUN 13
    esx_host_9 = LUN 13

    Should i manually assign the LUN ID so it matches for all hosts?

    Thanks

    Simon
