The company I’m doing some work for have two AD/DNS servers.
The primary server (2008) died so they seized all the FSMO roles for their secondary server (2003).
When I look in their DNS entries for the Forward Lookup Zones > fnc.com.au > _msdcs > pdc > _tcp
the SRV record lists the old/previous server.
When I do a netdom query I get the following results:
C:>netdom query /domain:fnc fsmo
Schema owner fncproxy.fnc.com.au
Domain role owner fncproxy.fnc.com.au
PDC role fncproxy.fnc.com.au
RID pool manager fncproxy.fnc.com.au
Infrastructure owner fncproxy.fnc.com.au
The command completed successfully.
Is this an issue? Can I just edit the SRV record with the current server?
Our environment is integrated AD/DNS.
Thanks in advance for any help. :)
