I am trying to use the following command to remove permissions for a specific group from a folder and all of its subfolders

    icacls D:SalesData /remove:g contoso.comMarketing /T
But what I end up with, is removing permissions for all users and groups on that folder, except those that are inherited from the parent folder. So I don’t just remove for the Marketing group, but I remove all other explicit permissions as well.

Anyone knows why? Since I am defining a specific group, it should only remove permissions for that group.

EDIT: Here is the freaky part, in my test environment, its working just fine. But in the production environment, I get the above result.
icacls D:SalesData /remove:g contoso.comMarketing /T
