Hi all,
I have this weird issue on a Windows 2008 R2 terminal server.
The customer configured his folder redirection GPO to redirect everything to D:UserData. Few months everything is fine until he decided to get another server, which renders this policy kind of unusable.
When I try to change the policy to \HostnameUserdata, which essentially is the very same location (D:userdata is shared as userdata), all the items in the folder go missing. I tried only AppData until now and my change effectively wiped all the pinned taskbar shortcuts, becoming white default icons. Shortcuts themselves don’t work either (‘this item has been changed or removed, would you like to delete this shortcut?’).
I don’t understand why this is happening. Could someone explain to me how to migrate this D:Userdata absolute path to a unc path without impacting users and screwing up their desktops?
Thank you in advance,
Lukas
