I’m having a hard time trying to implement folder redirections GPO in w7.
By now, documents and desktop are being redirected to shared folders in XP systems, using 2003 GPO’s.
My 2 Dc’s are 2003 R2. I’m preparing the deployment of w7 to all stations .
In order to apply the new w7 gpo settings, I’m running GPMC from a 2008 R2 member server.
To avoid a mixed envinronment, I’m using a test user in its own OU, with a folder redirection GPO linked to this test OU. The GPO that applies to xp users doesn’t apply.
The “folder redirection 7” GPO used for testing is pretty simple: desktop, documents and favorites are redirected to single locations, with all the three options (grant user.., move…, w2003…) disabled.
Only favorites are being redirected succesfully.
The Group Policy Result shows “Folder Redirection – Success”. The advanced view shows under the “Folder redirection” root, only Favorites.
No errors logged in the station or Dc’s, only “succesfully redirected favorites” in the app events at the station.
The test user has full access and ownership rights at the target folders.
Any idea what am I missing here? Ask me for further details if I forgot some.
